How to Rotate PDF Pages — Fix Sideways and Upside-Down Pages

Why PDF pages end up the wrong way

Scanning documents incorrectly is the most common cause. Merging landscape and portrait documents creates mixed orientations. Mobile scanning apps sometimes detect orientation incorrectly.

How to rotate PDF pages

1. Open the Rotate PDF tool. 2. Upload your PDF. 3. See a preview of all pages. 4. Select pages to rotate: all pages or specific ones. 5. Choose angle: 90 degrees clockwise, 90 degrees counter-clockwise, or 180 degrees. 6. Download the corrected PDF.

All pages vs specific pages

All pages same orientation: select all and rotate once. Mixed orientation document: select only the sideways pages and rotate those. Upside-down pages: rotate 180 degrees, common with duplex scanning errors.

After rotating

Scroll through the entire document to confirm all pages are correct. Check headers and footers appear correctly. If unsure which direction to rotate, try one and re-rotate if needed.

FAQ

Does rotating reduce quality? No. PDF rotation is a metadata operation — the underlying content data is not changed.

Will the PDF always open correctly after rotation? Yes — rotation is embedded permanently in the downloaded file.

My browser still shows it sideways. Why? Some browser PDF viewers cache the previous version. Try a hard refresh or open the downloaded file in a different PDF reader.
